Maui Engagement Photography – Mark and Judy

My passion toward my profession is to capture my clients highlighted moment and make it into a treasure.  I capture your love, laughter and happiness.  Thank you.  You are energizing me.  lol!

I received a phone call from Mark.  He was so excited with his idea of how to propose to his girlfriend Judy.  He reserved a table at Banyan Tree Restaurant in Ritz Carlton Kapalua and asked them to create a Menu just for Judy.  Menu looked like this.

“A hand picked husband complete with a life time of love, filled with devotions and covered with delicious happiness.  All that is required is that you say yes – Judy.  Will you marry me?”

When I saw this menu, Tears came up to my eyes.  Oh no, I go to work.

Judy have no idea what is going to happen.  I’m hiding behind bushes being Paparazzi.

She is reading the Menu.  Probably, twice, three times and…

“Oh my…  Yes!”

Can you see her happy “Surprise” tears?

Seal that promise with kiss.  Congratulations!

Phew!  I’m off from Paparazzi duty behind bushes.  Now, engagement portrait begins.

Because, we did not have enough time till Dinner, I offered them to do proper session at the beach next day.

Wishing many years of happiness to Mark and Judy.

Love,

Mieko

Maui Family Portrait Photographer – Blum Family

Blum Family decided to do family portrait while on their vacation in Maui.  We had a nice chat.  Their busy vacation schedule and my work schedule were met.  In two days, we are on portrait session.  Next day, she came to my studio to view images projected on 5 feet monitor.  Planning for family portrait could be this easy :-)

Thanks to Blum Family for including me as a part of your Maui vacation!

Love,

Mieko

Maui Family Photographer – Sullivan Family

We had a fun time with Sullivan Family on Monday.

The happy Sullivan Family :-)

Its all started from these two.

Family is one.  But, each individual make their own foot prints.

Shooting up to create nice portrait with heavy bang.  You know, it’s in style now…

Memories of fun vacation time in Maui.

A lot of laughter during this session.

They were so happy and could not stop jumping around.

After the session, lounging around enjoying the beautiful sunset.

It was so nice to meet you all, Sullivan Family!

Love,

Mieko

Maui Wedding Photography – Rhonda and John

Sneak preview for Rhonda and John’s wedding.  It was such a heart warming ceremony.  I’ve been so many weddings and got used to swallow up my tears while shooting.  However, when John’s son gave beautiful speech right after the ceremony.  It gave me tears.  Congratulations from bottom of my heart to Rhonda and John! I wish you many more of happy and happier years to come!

Love,

Mieko

Maui Baby Portrait – Baby’s first portrait session in your house

When baby is born, pack up every little things that baby needs and leave your house could be challenging.  Your body is healing from child birth.  Baby’s sleeping pattern is not set yet.  Your other family member’s daily routine.  etc. etc….  That shouldn’t prevent you from giving him/her a first portrait session of life.  I will come to your house and find/create a beautiful professional lighting to produce memorable portraits.  Planning it is easy.  Contact me today info@mauiphotography.net  or (808) 879-0260.  Look forward to hear from you.

Maui Senior Portrait – Graduation Seasons

Congratulations to all of Class 2012s!  May your achievement will give courage to go thorough your next adventure called LIFE!

Recently, I received a wonderful thank you message from my sweet client, Laura Mayron.  If you do not mind, I would like to share it.  Because, It gave me smile ear to ear.

“I hope you’re doing well and that you had a great birthday! I just wanted to thank you again for the amazing work you’ve done on my graduation invitations. I absolutely love them, and I’m not the only one. You wouldn’t believe the response they’ve gotten! Everybody loves them, and I’m not exaggerating. For example, a classmate posted on my Facebook wall about them (you can go see it!), and another one just messaged me asking about them–she said that everyone is “raving about them,” and they are! I’ve heard from my college counselor that people have been stopping by her office just to see it on her bulletin board because everyone is talking about how beautiful they are! Everyone says that they wishes they had one like it–that the photos and layout are just beautiful, and one teacher of mine said it’s the best one she’s ever seen in all her years of teaching! Your work is absolutely amazing, and while I’m so happy about the positive response, in a way I’m not surprised at all–your work is beautiful! I’ve been telling everyone about you, since of course everyone asks where I got such amazing invitations, and I hope that even more good will come your way! Of course, you are more than welcome to come to graduation–I’d love to have you there if you can make it! Thank you again!”

Working with younger generation adults like Laura always gives me new level of inspiration.  I’m truly happy that I could come across to her life as photographer.  Capturing one’s developmental stage such as this senior portrait of Laura is a gift to me.  Thank you Laura!

A portrait should tell the story about the person in the photograph

In this image of Chef James, you see him in the garden on his knees  picking beets.  This speaks to the Chefs attitude toward cooking of going from the farm to the plate.  Use this as an example when photographing your family and tell a story with your photographs.

If coming to Maui, why not schedule your own location portrait session?
